The aim of dental care for the equine patient is to alleviate pain in the mouth and to preserve function of the teeth, while doing no harm in the process.  This is most commonly achieved by using a power float to remove sharp enamel points and hooks.  Retained caps and wolf teeth can be readily removed on-farm.  Complex procedures such as the removal of broken teeth or molars are referred to Prescott Animal Hospital Large Animal Surgery & Medical Referral Centre.
